What Resoulutions Made It?

Last year in December, I posted about my aspirations for the upcoming year. So, now is a time to look back and see what exactly did I see through to the end!

1. Simply, start working out at least 5 out of 7 days. Happened until July…see #6. (I was too tired and too sick…now I’m just too lazy.)

2. Drink more water. I did, I really did!

3. Eat less sugar. Well…I did eat clean for a short period of time, which means no sugar.

4. By April 2010, resume training for my second-degree black belt. Did not happen and decided it took too much time away from my family. I nixed this one.

5. Run the CASA 8K on June 12, 2010. I DID it! Remember?

6. Spend at least 6 months out of 2010 not pregnant, nursing, and/or both. Well, it turns out this wasn’t really a good resolution for us. I made it two months. And am VERY happy this resolution did not make it.

7. Spend more time studying scripture. This was a positive. It has taken me almost a year, but I hope to have read through the entire Bible before Anna arrives. I tried for reading it within 6 months but #6 interfered with a few of my resolutions.

8. Find a church family. We have been attending Westminster Presbyterian Church for over a year now! And we are regular members of a church for the first time since we married! Being led there stemmed from this experience.

9. Pray more as a family. We are praying more together…but can’t we always pray more?

10. Spend at least one night a month with my husband without babies. (Not enough, but a start.) This…does not happen. It is more like twice a year.

All in all...it has been a great year. I believe my only resolution for 2011 will be to adapt to new baby Anna Lee.

All in all, it seems you did very well with your resolutions. I didn't make any last year, but I think it may be a good idea to post them like this to increase my accountability. Best wishes and congratulations on failing #6!!

Hey it sounds like you did pretty well. I don't make resolutions usually, but really need a push to start and stick with a prayer list. A gentleman in our adult Sunday school class has one and told me yesterday that he regularly prays for all of our class's requests..including for my unsaved sister. It really touched me, I should also be remembering the saints in prayer!

When's the baby due?

I usually don't make resolutions either...blogging helps with accountability!

I have been pondering how to handle a prayer list. I think writing it down would help with not only remembering who and what needs our prayers...but being able to see God move as the prayers are answered...according to His will of course.

I'm due March 22! Not too long!

Hey...that's not bad at all! I'd say your success rate for this past year keeping resolutions was well above the average.

I think I'll snag #2 and #3 from you. Not that I make resolutions or anything...

I don't do resolutions. But I do set spiritual goals. Some that I didn't make this year, was I didn't go back to school or loose the weight I had assigned.

If you want to read some tremendous resolutions made by a 21 year old, google The Seventy Resolutions of Jonathan Edwards. They will knock your socks off.

Oh dear...I'm not sure there is anything Edwards didn't cover in those Resolutions! That is definitely blog worthy...thank you for bringing it to my attention!
